Official Statement: Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update 17/03/20

Updated: Jul 2

Dear Campers,

I am writing to update the current situation for Thorrington in light of the Coronavirus (Covid 19) as of 22:00 16/03/2020.

Following tonight’s update from Tim Kidd (UK Chief Commissioner), and earlier from the government, it is with sadness that we have to inform you that Thorrington Scout Camp will be closed from tomorrow – 17/03/2020 until further notice.

Thorrington Scout Camp remains committed to keep the safety and well-being of young people and adults first and we only take this action to ensure you remain safe during this difficult time.

We would continue to advise you to follow guidelines set out by the government and NHS, which can be found here https://scouts-news.org.uk/31ME-10O0C-3D71PO-MRDS0-1/c.aspx whilst we monitor the situation closely.

As soon as it is safe to reopen the site we will do so.

Any further updates will be published on our website

https://www.thorringtonscoutcamp.co.uk/

As I am sure you can imagine, we are experiencing a very high level of contact at present with this in mind I ask that should your enquiry be directly related to rearranging or cancelling a booking, please contact us through the newly appointed email for coronavirus COVID-19@thorringtonscoutcamp.org

We thank you for your patience and understanding and look forward to welcoming you to Thorrington in the near future.

Yours in Scouting,

Thorrington Scout Camp
